It is with deep sorrow and profound heartbreak that the Partnership for Transformational Development (PTD) Kenya joins the nation and the world in mourning the passing of Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga — a man whose name is forever inscribed in the story of Kenya’s struggle for democracy, justice, and national transformation.
Rt. Hon. Odinga was more than a political leader; he was a visionary, reformer, and symbol of resilience. His voice echoed across generations, calling Kenyans to believe in a country grounded in truth, equality, and shared prosperity. Through triumphs and trials, detentions and denials, he stood firm — embodying the moral courage that redefined Kenya’s political consciousness.
In Makueni County, and across the wider Kamba community, we did not just follow him during elections — we journeyed with him through conviction and faith. He believed in the power of ordinary people to shape extraordinary change. He walked with the poor, stood beside the voiceless, and lifted the dreams of those forgotten by the corridors of power.
Raila Odinga gave meaning to sacrifice. He spent years in darkness so that others might see the light of freedom. He was denied power, yet never lost purpose. He faced injustice, yet never abandoned his faith in the people of Kenya.
As PTD Kenya, we draw inspiration from his enduring legacy — a legacy of transformational leadership, of citizen empowerment, and of unwavering belief in the power of unity and accountability. His journey challenges us to carry forward the ideals he championed: that leadership must serve, power must uplift, and democracy must protect.
Today, we bow our heads not in defeat, but in deep gratitude for a life that changed the destiny of a nation.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Mama Ida Odinga, the entire Odinga family, the people of Nyanza, and all Kenyans who shared in his dream for a just and united republic.
As we mourn, we also make a solemn pledge — to keep his flame alive through action, advocacy, and service.
The road ahead is long, but because he walked it before us, we know it can be done.
Farewell, Baba.
You fought a good fight. You stood for truth. You taught us courage.
May your spirit continue to guide this nation toward the promise you so faithfully believed in.
Rest in eternal peace, Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga.
Kenya stands taller because you walked among us
