PTD Kenya supports communities to adopt climate-smart farming practices, drought-tolerant crops, and soil conservation measures that reduce vulnerability to climate shocks. The organization also helps farmers and youth groups access information on weather patterns and sustainable production systems.

Working in collaboration with local leaders and schools, PTD promotes rainwater harvesting, community water projects, and catchment area protection initiatives such as the Kitise Community Water Project and the Kikome Irrigation Scheme. These interventions improve water access and support local agriculture and sanitation.

Recognizing the high levels of youth unemployment, PTD integrates climate action with green job creation. Young people are trained in tree nursery management, environmental education, and renewable energy enterprises such as solar installation and briquette production.

PTD Kenya collaborates with schools like Mikauni Comprehensive School to establish Environmental Clubs, Universities likeSouth Eastern Kenya University, KMTCs like Mbuvo Campus, Training College like MECETTI to establish Integrity Clubs, where learners are mentored on tree growing, waste management, and climate awareness. These clubs cultivate environmental responsibility among the next generation of leaders.

The organization facilitates community dialogues and advocacy forums that encourage citizens to participate in climate governance — ensuring that environmental policies and development projects reflect the voices of local communities, especially women and youth.
